1. Who we are

Vehicles Road Tax is an independent private information service. We are not the DVLA, and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by the DVLA or any UK Government department.

You can tax your vehicle yourself, free of charge, at gov.uk/vehicle-tax.

2. What we provide

We provide plain-English guidance on UK vehicle excise duty (VED), an online estimator, and an optional paid subscription service that helps you budget for and manage your vehicle tax.

Our fees are for our own service only. They are separate from any tax you owe to the DVLA.

3. Estimates are guidance only

Figures shown by our estimator are calculated from the details you enter and published VED bands. They are indicative and may not match the exact amount the DVLA charges.

You are responsible for checking the correct amount and for keeping your vehicle taxed, insured and MOT'd.

4. Your account and information

You agree that the registration, name, email address and telephone number you give us are accurate and that you are entitled to provide them.

You must not use the service unlawfully, attempt to disrupt it, or copy our content for commercial use without permission.

5. Payments and subscriptions

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

The monthly plan takes a first payment of £17.50 today and the same amount each month until cancelled. The six-month option is a single one-off payment.

You can cancel a subscription at any time by emailing us; cancellation stops future payments from the next billing date.

6. Liability

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill, but we do not guarantee that estimates are error-free or that the site will always be available.

We are not liable for fines, penalties, clamping or other losses arising from an untaxed vehicle. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

7. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the version published here is the one that applies.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
